SDSU CHAPULTAPEC HALL
CLIENT: San Diego State University
PROJECT SIZE: 12,600 sf.
The project is located on the main campus of the San Diego State University, San Diego, California, within the Chapultepec Hall dorm building. The project provided much needed upgrades to existing common area spaces. The existing Chapultepec Hall is an 11-story concrete residential building built in 1993. The first floor houses a large multipurpose common space, and floors 2-11 house a smaller floor lounge space. The areas of primary focus included finish material upgrades in the main reception, lobbies and community lounge, built-in bench and window seating and new LED light fixtures. The first floor lounge was expanded and new design included built-in seating areas, kitchen, movie screening and gaming areas. In addition an updated check in lobby was a part of the design.
